Hello to everyone, hi Jens!
My name is Gianluca and I live in Genoa, Italy; I am 36 and
I am a massive fan of Thule since I have listened to their music
for the first time back in 1991. Listening to their music made me
love Norway; the way Thule play took me up to the land where they
live.
I liked so much their unique style and their immense feeling
that I felt almost compelled to think to a trip to Norway, the land
they so amazingly portray with their music. Unfortunately I wasn't
able to leave for ten years but my passion for Thule stayed the
same through all the time. Then I had the opportunity to make this
trip to Norway and obviously Honningsvag and North Cape were on
top of my list. What an intense travel ! I made the trip by plane
(from Genoa to Munich then Oslo then Tromsoe and finally Honningsvag!)
but what a feeling when the small aircraft landed on the little
air field of Honningsvag! When I saw the fjord and the roaring sea
below I had shivers down my spine...
Then there was Honningsvag. I love that small town it's absolutely
beautiful, it's the place I dreamed of so many times...and there
I was.The sky, the harbour, the houses, the fishing boats, all reminded
me of Thule and obviously I began to look for them. I have to say
that I send an E-mail to Peer announcing my arrival so it was easy
for me to find them. But what a fantastic welcome !! I first met
Hugo Barbala then Peer and they invited me to a rehearsal they made
just for me !! It was really a dream come true !! They played a
lot of new fantastic songs then an incredible "Marsketi"
from "Natt" and some beautiful tracks from "Frostbrent".
I really don't know how to thank them for this incredible present
! They were so kind and friendly and I will always be grateful for
the emotions they gave me that night. Then I left Honningsvag, Thule,
the beauty of North Cape and I took the Hurtigruten boat south bound.
It was an incredible cruise, I loved every minute of it and I think
Norway and northern Norway in particular is the most beautiful land
in the world. Those silent and solitary landscapes and those villages
amongst the fjords took my heart.
I left my heart in Norway and surely I will be back as soon
as possible.
