Project summary (from the proposal):

The project EURO LANGUAGES NET PLUS (ELN PLUS) is initiated by a large group of institutions in Europe to promotelinguistic diversity and offer a network focusing on dissemination of less widely-used languages. ELN PLUS concentrates on oneof the main European Union priorities for languages - networking, publicity and information. EURO LANGUAGES NET PLUS will cover 23 languages and will be designed to create an Internet resource of less widely usedEuropean languages for the general public. 12 languages - German, Bulgarian, Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian,Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian and Slovak are already represented on the European Languages Net project web site (http://www.euro-languages.net), the newly presented ones, namely Czech,Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Irish, Greek, Maltese, Icelandic, Turkish and Spanish will be introduced to the general public. The website will also offer LINGUA Products Fair, where the most successful Lingua 1 and Lingua 2 projects and their productswill be available for the general public. On-line forums for language providers, professionals and the general public will be organised to discuss the future of less widely-used languages in Europe, to compare the existing language policies, traditional and innovative approaches to teaching lesswidely used languages as mother tongues and as foreign languages, to share ideas on promoting learning languages and raising awareness of its importance.
