How does the course/s in Hamar fit into
your study plan?
There are actually few courses in Hamar that fit into my Polish
study plan (which is quite rich, regarding the Polish study system),
although those which do overlap, are a perfect
match and sometimes even exceed the requirements of the primary
courses.

What made you choose to come and study in
Hamar?
I decided that the best way to improve my Norwegian is to study it
in the natural environment and decided to apply for the Erasmus
scholarship in Norway. I got a place in Hamar and here I am.

How did you like Hamar?
The town is a very pleasant change after the hectic life in such a
huge city as Gdańsk. I absolutely adore Norwegian towns and
Hamar is the best place to study – small, quiet and charming. A long
walk on the banks of Mjøsa is the best way to reduce stress.

How did you like your study in Hamar?
I have a great time attending lectures and studying. The Norwegian
study system varies from the Polish one, there is much more work at
home than at school. The teachers are devoted to their subject and
always ready to help. However, the choice of courses for a person
who wants to study Scandinavia-related subjects still needs some
improvement – the available courses are either too advanced or too
simple for a person who already had some contact with the Norwegian
language, but is not yet perfect.

Do you have tips for other students who
want to study in Hamar?
If you have doubts about coming to Hamar (it’s not exactly a big
city) stop worrying and start packing your suitcase instead. You
don’t waste time in public transportation, which gives you more time
to get socially involved. The student societies are open for
international students, so feel free to join at any time. You will
have the time of your life and make some long-lasting friendships as
well.
